Oh these lucky cats! Instead of having to walk all the way through the spooky forest, Skellie cat stopped by and picked them up! They’re getting a ride to the Halloween party in style!
Cats Won’t Be Ignored…
So I decided to paint some larger paintings which causes a problem with my being able to scan the artwork. I grabbed a chair, headed downstairs, and found a window for some natural light. This shouldn’t be a problem. However, when trying to photograph something OTHER than a cat, when cats are around, the cats will make themselves known…
Is it Halloween Yet?
Halloween!
This is our third year celebrating Halloween in PA, and it’s going to be the rainiest one yet. I’m glad we’re not painting our faces this year! I took some photos of the Halloween-ness around the house. A couple of them I tried to HDR but I really don’t play with Photomatix enough to realize what I’m supposed to be doing. It’s just random moving sliders here and there. I took 6 pictures of the living room at different exposures and still ended up blurry on one side. I was using a tripod and a remote shutter, so not sure what went wrong there. Oh well, still shows the room!
Here’s a little pumpkin house we found the other day. I love this house so much! It’s in some tiny rural town, who’s name totally escapes me right now. Oh, wait I think it was Fertigs, PA!
Lastly, to all my East Coast readers/friends/family, please stay safe out there!
The Reflection
I usually have a few pieces of paper in front of me where I randomly scribble out ideas for both paintings and photographs. One of my ideas was Anna in front of one of our old armoires, holding a doll, with the reflection being a ‘darker’ version of Anna reaching out for the doll. Due to lighting situations in the house, I changed it to a tall mirror in the forest. My mother kept asking when I was going to do that particular photo, and I kept putting it off. Well this weekend’s theme being “reflections”, my mom turned to threats if I didn’t take the shot… haha =) So we went out this morning and got it done. It’s not as dark as maybe I’d wanted to go initially, but I’m ok with that. The only problem is, I can’t decide if I like the black and white version, or the colored.
I took a little ‘behind the scenes’ of Anna in character. She’s always so willing to participate in photographs!
