Wow, when you win a contest worth 3,000 Euros, but you didn’t actually. Someone entered your design for themselves…and won. Sigh. I’ve messaged the design shop Petit Bateau, to alert them that the design is mine and not authorized…and that they probably shouldn’t pay the “winner.”
How sad for actual artists who entered this competition, to find out they were beaten by someone using art that wasn’t their own. I’d be FUMING mad if I had participated in this contest and found out as Charlotte, who found my art quickly after searching “sailor cat” to find out more about the winning entry. You can see her message to me below.
I’ll keep you updated when/if I hear back from this clothing line.
Ok, I totally borrowed that title from Morrissey, but it was the only thing that kept running through my head today as I shot these photos. I love everything nautical. Well, not for me but for Anna. The past 9 birthdays have had nautical themes…or at least she’s worn a nautical-inspired dress or outfit. (The Hello Kitty cake request almost launched the nautical theme overboard on her 8th birthday…) Anna doesn’t appear to mind it, in fact she’s requesting origami boats and Hello Kitties on her birthday cake this year. I think I can create something like that. =)
Apparently I created an account with WordPress back in 2008, and soon forgot about it. So now I’m going to waste time trying to figure out how to use this, make it look how I’d like, then decide if I’m going to keep it. =)
I also have to decide on whether I want to use this for just my artwork, or for my photographs too. I’m a bit addicted to taking photos of anything and everything. Sometimes taking photos of things that I’ll later use in paintings. The two work pretty well together!
