Well, it wasn’t actually pink snow, but the hue was definitely pink when I took these photos today. =P

Merry day-after Christmas!
I hope you all had a wonderful day, whether you celebrate Christmas or not. It was basically a normal day for us, as the children decided they didn’t actually want wrap-able items. Well, that coupled with the fact that I couldn’t wait to give one child a speaker system for an iPhone (my old iPhone) so she could listen to all the itunes music she got to pick out. New shoes for all, clothing, books, and Steam games. I figured, why wait to hand out the needful things? So we all just relaxed and did our own thing on Christmas day.
Did I mention there’s no snow? No snow at all, not even a flurry. Hell,ย it was 60 degrees! It’s been so long since I’ve lived in my native state of California, that I forgot how it feels to not have snow during this time. =P
Now the kids will go down and de-ornament the tree, so that I can wrap it up and put it back down in the basement. It’s time to de-Christmas the house and get things back to normal. That includes me getting back to normal and painting!
Hanging Out With Chickens
This year’s spring and summer rain really hindered our garden this year. The soil was so wet, that under the squash and pumpkin plants mushrooms were growing! Anyway, we decided to let the chickens have the run of the garden, so they can clean out the beds and we can get ready for next time.
Of course the chickens were more than happy to oblige! Going right for the beds, laying their eggs in them, and kicking up dirt! I only asked that they leave the marigolds and nasturtium alone.ย
We also had to make sure we covered the potato area with chicken wire. Still holding out hope that the potatoes will get a bit larger than cherry tomatoes. =P
Anna picked a marigold for her hair, so I took a quick portrait of her by the sunflowers.
Little Lamb, Little Lamb
I had to “get out” of the house today. Sure it meant only walking to the front yard, but I had to step away from my painting desk. I’ve been so focused with commissions and making clay pendants that I was starting to go stir-crazy. So I threw Anna in a dress and mask and took some quick shots.ย I’m good for now…
