Pierre, the black kitten, has played fetch for quite a few months now. He prefers socks and gloves, as well as his favorite toy “mousy.” None of the other cats really paid any attention to the game. Sure every now and then someone would block his way, but he always would find the glove and bring it back. For some reason, Rosebud finally decided he wanted to play fetch too! He did it a few times before I decided to run and grab the camera. However, naturally when I figured out where the record button was on the Canon, he was pooped out.
We’ve never lived in a place where we weren’t by the ocean, so living in Pennsylvania probably wasn’t the best pick for us. We think this in hindsight, of course. From Long Beach, California, to Reykjavik, Iceland, Alicante, Spain, Portland, Oregon……….to Oil City, PA. Odd choice right? Anyway, even though we’re right by the river, it just doesn’t equal the ocean. (plus I don’t think anyone goes in the Allegheny, not here.) So today’s painting is about a Summer Holiday to the beach, or to a pool, somewhere where there’s palm trees-oh how I suddenly miss palm trees!
Ever have one of those thoughts that has you questioning your own sanity? I do, often. Driving around looking for a store that has decent bikes for the kids (last minute Christmas idea) and bam! “Hey Mom, think we could find a Christmas outfit for a dog or cat that would work on one of our chickens?” Expecting absolute silence, silent judging from my mother on my sanity, she actually laughed and said that would be great, let’s do it! Maybe it wasn’t too crazy of an idea? We found a little Mrs. Clause dress with velcro that seemed like it would be a good fit. Which chicken of the six? It would have to be a white one so the red feathers didn’t clash with the red dress. Lillian! Lillian is one of the two white chickens with a longer tail than Golde, the other white one. So, yeah, that happened.
Earlier I went through the house looking for Anna’s little deer. Long story short, we’ve lived in PA for 3 years and have barely seen a deer in the woods. We’re always driving around looking, but it’s so rare to actually spot one. So…
Ok, so I had to get this out of my head too. This was my original plan some time ago, before the Volvo. Seeing as I don’t have my beetle anymore and I don’t know anyone in town who’d be willing to let two cats in their car, I resorted to my nifty toy. Oh, and toy cats as well. =P These are obviously in my head as I need to paint more since they’re selling out.
This one I shot on my desk with a different, decorated tree. It was late at night and I needed a break from making ornaments. Really not a fan of light that isn’t natural.
