As I was sitting making more ornaments, I remembered how I used to make little pins. I figured yesterday was as good at time as any to whip up a few. I came up with mini ghosts, witches, and my favorite typewriter. I’ll be working on a rainbow assortment of typewriter brooches, and maybe some more last minute Halloween ones.
I didn’t realize it until this morning when the coffee kicked in, but yesterday I took a break from making VW Christmas ornaments so I could paint a couple paintings. Yesterday’s theme was apparently modes of transportation. With 24 clay ornaments to finish, I grabbed a couple canvases and drew out a cat on a bicycle and a couple cats in a bug.
I love fat cats on bicycles and with autumn upon us, this kitty definitely needed a scarf to cut the chill of the wind!

One of the last paintings I’ll do this year for Halloween. I liked the twins so much, I decided to make a little ornament as well. =)
Do you celebrate Halloween? If so, what will you be this year? I have no idea what, if anything, I will be this year. I might just redo the Dia de los Muertos nun, but that wouldn’t be exciting. I still have a little time to think about it!

Halloween is coming super fast now! I’m pretty sure we’re going to start decorating inside and out since we broke down and bought some mums and pumpkins. Our driveway pumpkins didn’t survive the blight this year, although the gourd plants are still green and seemingly trying, I think it’s too late for anything now. Very sad.
But on a happier note! I created a new Halloween ornament today: the mummy cat! I was trying to think of something I actually don’t even have in my Halloween paintings (yet, but I will now) and that was a mummy cat. I think it came out really cute!
One thing I absolutely love about Pennsylvania is the woods. Waking up early in the morning to drive around the forests, looking for deer and other wildlife to catch a photo of. We’re a little intimidated to actually go IN the forest, because there seems to always be hunters lurking about. That and black bears.
It’s hard to believe that summer is almost officially over in two weeks. The kids’ school supplies have already started showing up via FedEx! All the boxes are still hanging out in the entry room-I should probably start putting books on their shelves sometime before this week is over. =)
I managed to get Puddy and Carbon cat to be my ‘models’ this week. Though Puddy looks like a sour puss in his shot. =P
But not just cats on bicycles, but rather plump cats on bicycles, licking ice cream. =)
My favorite time of year is Halloween time! The chill in the air, the changing of the leaves, getting to wear scarves, and Halloween. Pumpkins and costumes! Nothing pleases me more. So I’m gearing up for Halloween, getting some more ornaments and paintings stocked up in my store. As of the day of this post, there are only 84 days until Halloween!
I made a new batch of ornaments this year, including a skellie bat cat!
